Map Data & Layers
Discover essential techniques for effectively working with map data.
Understanding Layers

Primary Data Layers:
- Parcels - Property boundaries (primary, non-primary, approved, road/hydro), note that parcel accuracies vary significantly with some areas highly accurate and some areas out by greater than 10-100 metres.
- Marks - Survey marks including geodetic marks
- Vectors - Boundary and non-boundary measurements
- Survey Plans - Plan references and downloadable images
- Infrastructure - Council data (where available)
- Other - Territorial boundaries, place names, contours, historical aerial image
Layer Management

Turning Layers On/Off:
- Use the layer control panel (icon in right hand toolbar)
- Select/Deselect layers to show/hide different data types
Scale-Dependent Display:
The zoom scale toggle in the right hand toolbar controls the level at which certain layers turn on and off, if you are working in a rural area and things are turning off too early while zooming out try the aA or AA option
